This qualification provides the foundation in IT skills and knowledge. This course is designed for students who wish to gain a broad understanding of the main functional areas of computing and netwrking and to develop skills necessary for the IT Industry.

The core units contain basic ICT skills and knowledge required for effective entry into all ICA05 qualifications from Certificae IV upwards. The qualification introduces OH&S and soft skills such as communication. This course is the starting point of all IT courses. At the exit point of the course, students learn:

  • Foundations skills and knowledge in computer operations
  • How to use common software applications
  • How to trouble shoot common computer problems at home and work
  • Computing skills that are valuable in any business

Certificate II in Information Technology is made up of core, elective and prerequisite units.

Entry Requirements Students must satisfy the following Age, English and Academic requirements:
  • Age: must be 18 years of age or over
  • English Proficiency Level: IELTS score of at least 5.5 or TOEFL score of at least 550
  • Academic Qualifications: Successful completion of Year 12 or its equivalent
