International students studying in Australia on a student visa must have a valid health insurance for the duration of stay in Australia. This is known as Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

The OSHC covers emergency medical attention through the public health system. For more information on OSHC refer to the Department of Health and Ageing (DOHA) website.

ACMT has an arrangement with Medibank Private to organize OSHC on behalf of commencing international students for an annual premium of (for 2009):

• single student cover - A$354
• family cover - A$708

• pay the initial Medibank Private premium, or
• provide evidence that they have current valid OSHC
